Comment: SNSD finally moves up to No. 1 this week with “Hoot”.  Asia’s number one girl group, SNSD makes a surprise comeback with a new mini album, “Hoot.” The girls have been quite busy this year promoting their second album with songs, “Oh” and “Run Devil Run” and debuting in Japan. The title track of the new album is “Hoot,” which showcases their upgraded vocals and emotions.  SNSD joins 2AM (who they surpass this week) as the only artists in 2010 to score three No. 1 songs on our chart.  Congratulations.

Comment: 2AM’s “To You Who’s Not Picking Up The Phone” drops back to No. 2 this week.  This song is coming from 2AM’s first full-length album titled, “Saint O’Clock.” Bang Shi Hyuk who produced 2AM’s hit number “Can’t Send You Even If I Die” has also produced this album, elevating fans’ anticipation. “To You Who’s Not Picking Up the Phone” centralizes around the theme of the loneliness and hurt felt through breakup.  It only takes two weeks to become our No. 1 song.  With their latest No. 1 song, 2AM will have a very strong presence in the upcoming year end awards.

Comment: Psy’s “Right Now” still hangs on to No. 3 this week. This is his first album in four years. Known for his unique rap and dance songs, PSY has brought together an impressive team for his comeback album Psyfive. Cool’s Lee Jae Hoon features in the advance track “In My Eye”, while Seo In Young pitches in on Thank You. Brown Eyed Soul’s Jung Yup and YDG also participated in the album.  The title track is “Right Now”.  This song combines electronic arrangement along with Psy’s singing and rapping.

Comment: The hits keep coming from 2NE1’s first studio album, ‘To Anyone.’ This time the girls made a 180 degrees image change for beauty and elegance to perform this R&B ballad “It Hurts (Slow)”.  The four members shared vocal equally, even for CL and Minzi who usually rap, sing extensively in this song.  It is a perfect song as we get into the winter.  This week it moves up two spots to No. 5.

Comment: Kara who has been promoting and gaining popularity in Japan releases “Jumping” in both Korea and Japan. The title track is of the same title and is a pop dance number co-composed by Han Jae Ho and Kim Seung Soo. The song incorporates both retro sounds from the 80’s and current euro pop sounds. The song is about wanting to go back to the past to one’s past love.  This week it debuts at No. 7.

Comment: Contestents of Super Star K Season 2 keeps hitting our chart, and this week we have the winner Huh Gak who releases his first mini album titled, “Whenever.” Included in the album is his debut track, “Whenever,” a ballad written by top composer Cho Young Soo.  One can hear the powerful vocal of this up and coming talent on this song.  This week “Whenever” is up to No. 9 becoming Huh Gak’s first top 10 hit.

Comment: Male duo, December who has released quite a number of hits including “Can You Not Come Back,” the theme song for the drama series “Iris” along with “Love is Really” has finally released its first studio album, “A Story to the Sky.” The group has returned with new music styles, shifting from their usual medium tempo ballads to lounge music. One of the three title tracks, “Blinding Tears” is at No. 13 this week.  “Blinding Tears” showcases the duo’s vocals skills as they sing about the sadness one feels over a loved one who has passed away.

Comment: Coming back from his two years of military service, Lee Jung released a digital single “To Be Break Up”.  Lee Jung wrote this song himself and co-wrote the lyrics with Leessang’s Gary, who is the featured rapper. Lee Jung debuted in 2003 as an R&B singer.  Over the years he has diversified into more pop-oriented songs, but this time he returns to his R&B roots as “To Be Break Up” is a song with pure R&B melody.  This week it falls five spots to No. 16.

Comment: Rainbow scores another top 20 hit with their latest digital single “Mach”. Just not long ago their song “A” was also in our top 20.  DSP Entertainment has high hope on this group which have a different image and different music style than Kara.  But just like Kara, they keep improving and rank higher with each song.  “Mach” drops six spots to No. 19 this week.

Comment: V.O.S returned this year with part two of their special mini album titled, “Memories.” Like the title suggests, the album consists of memories of the V.O.S members, Choi Hyun Jun and Kim Kyung Rok in the midst of their mandatory army service. If part one consisted of happiness and love, part two is more focused on memories of separation and regret. The title track of the album is “You Flow To Me,” an emotional ballad created by Park Geun Tae, singer Suh Young Eun and the V.O.S members.  This week it moves up 12 spots to No. 20.

well well this is a late posting October is near its end n m posting week 1 chart..XD…actually i was bzy with my high school exams and was not able to update the chart…so here it is:

1. (+2) 2NE1 – 박수쳐 (Clap Your Hands) *** 1 WEEK NO. 1 ***

Comment: As expected, 2NE1’s “Clap Your Hands” rises to the top spot in just its second week on the chart.  This song is from their first full studio album “To Anyone”. The girls did well last year with their powerful charisma on stage and their showy fashion sense. 2NE1 will have three title tracks – “Can’t Nobody,” “Go Away,” and “Clap Your Hands” – that will be performed simultaneously for promotions, probably a first in Korean music that an album have three different title songs. Top producers, Teddy, e.knock, choice37, and PK among others have participated in the album to bring out strong hip-hop beats, R&B, as well as reggae.

The album follows the concept of going on vacation as shown through the album jacket and 24-page photo booklet.  “Love Love Love” is a mid-tempo pop rock song that fans will fall in love with immediately.

The song holds sad lyrics about reminiscing one’s past love life, only to realize that all that’s left is breakup.  This week it rises nine more spots into the top 5 at No. 4.

The title track is “What Did You Do At This Age,” a medium tempo hip-hop number with lyrics about not knowing love even at an older age. Jung Seul Gi’s vocal featuring helps bring out the sad mood of the song.  This week it moves up 13 spots and becomes the group’s first top 5 hit.

The song holds lyrics about how a girl may seem a bit “shady” in front of a lover, but it’s because they want to look nice for him. Despite not getting as much attention as other rookie artists, Sistar has been doing very well on the chart and both of their songs made the top 5.

Comment: Diva Lim Jeong Hee and Jo Kwon meet for duet number, “Road to Breakup” in midst of the singer’s comeback mini album, “It Can’t be Real” due on September 30th. The song holds a special meaning because it’s a collaboration between former vocal teacher (Lim) and student (Jo) and also because Jo Kwon had always wanted to sing a duet with her. The song was composed by top producer, Bang Shi Hyuk (hitman bang), making it all the more anticipated.  This week it debuts at No. 15.

The title track is “Breath” a new song that is expected to upgrade Beast one notch higher. Music Bank kicks off this week with some fabulous performances due to M! Countdown being canceled yesterday. Although BoA’s follow up performance was the talk of the K-Pop scene for the day, the show was filled with several spectacular performances!

In the end, it was 2NE1 who stole the show with their second consecutive K-Chart win over Wheesung again on this week’s Music Bank! Congratulations!

Music Bank returns this Friday night in Korea for another weekly show jam-packed with awesome performances from talented artists.

Aside from the comeback stage for 2NE1, and the debut stage for San E, the artists who performed are:
