Big Bang comes before fans once again with a special edition album that includes some of the group’s top songs released within the past year. There are dual title tracks in this album, “Love Song” and “Stupid Liar.” The former song which was co-composed and penned by G-Dragon and Teddy has electronica rhythms and rock elements. The later song on the other hand is an addictive mainstream-friendly number. Also included in the album are songs from GD&TOP’s album, Big Bang’s fourth mini-album, Taeyang’s first album, and Daesung’s solo track, “Baby Don’t Cry.”

Girl group, Rainbow who debuted in 2009 with “Gossip Girl” returns with their second mini-album “So女.”The title track is “To Me,” created by famous Japanese composer, Daishi Dance who also wrote Big Bang’s “Haru Haru.” This dance number incorporates both emotional piano instrumentals and powerful house beats. Also included in the album is “So Cool,” a retro pop song composed by producer Steven Lee, Drew Ryan Scott, and Sean Alexander. The 80’s retro sounds are shown through electric guitar and synthesizer sounds. “Only You” on the other hand is a beautiful pop ballad composed by Lee Joo Hyung. Rainbow’s past hit singles, “A” and ”Mach” are in this album as well.

Rookie girl group, Dal Shabet releases their second mini-album, “Pink Rocket” this month. The title track is of the same name and is a trendy pop number about a girl’s extraordinary imagination as she imagines flying into space in a rocket. Dal Shabet’s sweet and cute vocals are expected to fit these lyrics well. B2ST’s Yoseob is upset with fans for attacking Rainbow’s Jaekyung


B2ST’s Yoseob left an emotional message for his fans, after rumors began circulating of his possible casting with Rainbow’Jaekyung for MBC’s “We Got Married“.

A portion of his fanbase immediately began attacking Jaekyung’s homepages by leaving hateful messages, which eventually drove Yoseob to speak out and ask netizens to refrain from doing so.

Yoseob tweeted on the morning of January 7th, “Because of the people that spat out words without any thought, the wounds are still not healing. It’s the same for anyone else, if not me.  No matter how it’s done or who they are, what I’m saying is that you cannot harm people.  Apologize.  Or shall I apologize on behalf of you?

Ga-In wins Inkigayo Mutizen + other performances


SBS Inkigayo makes another return on a Sunday afternoon, which just happens to be on Halloween, so fans can look forward to a series of top performances.

The Take 7 nominees were miss A (‘Breathe‘), 2PM (‘I’ll Be Back‘), Ga-In (‘Irreversible‘), 2NE1 (‘Go Away‘), B2ST (‘Soom‘), Supreme Team (‘Then Then Then‘), and SHINee (‘Hello‘). Due to special circumstances, Supreme Team and miss A were not able to appear on the show.

As always, there is only one trophy, and the winner of this week’s Mutizen went to Ga-In who couldn’t quite believe it as she stayed silent for a few seconds before speaking! But it was really long overdue for Ga-In who have topped various music charts in recent weeks. Congratulations!

But of course, there were several other notable performances from Psy, Rainbow, SG Wannabe, Eru, Nine Muses and Bohemian, so be sure to check them out!

 


 

2PM wins K-Chart again on Music Bank + other performances


After a break last week due to a live baseball game broadcast, Music Bank is back again with a fun and exciting show filled with amazing performances as usual.

There were several eye-catching comeback stages tonight, featuring 2AM and SNSD, while rookie group Touch also made their belated debut after M! Countdown and Music Core last week. There were goodbye stages also for SHINee, Se7en and B2ST.

Last week’s winner, 2PM was back in the running for #1 against Gummy for the K-Chart. In the end, it was 2PM gets their second consecutive win for “I’ll Be Back”. Congratulations to 2PM!

Comment: Popular KBS Drama “Baker King Kim Tak Goo” ended on a high note with nearly 50% rating.  This prompts its theme song Lee Seung Chul’s “That Person” to stay strong at the top 20 this week again at No. 19.  The OST Part 1 and 2 features V.O.S and KCM, but the most popular song in this drama is this tender ballad.

Comment: Almost a year after his solo debut album, former SG Wannabe member Chae Dong Ha is releasing the mini-album D day. Chae traveled all the way to India and Nepal to find inspiration for the album, for which he composed and produced. Going against the current K-pop trend, D-day eschews digital and electronic sounds for strings and acoustic. The album comes with four new songs including the main track Haruga Michigo, whose music video co-stars Chuno’s Yoon Joo Hee.  This week it debuts at No. 20.
